Sustainability
Materials: Due in part to ongoing research on microplastic risk thought to be associated with polyesters and the probable toxicity of uncontrolled combustion of either fully polyester or partially polyester clothes, I currently prefer to use cloth made from agriculturally derived compostable fibres such as cotton, wool, viscose, tencel and cupro. Until some future time that product testing shows otherwise, interfacing and all thread used to sew is necessarily and unfortunately polyester. Cloth and other materials used is as stated in product descriptions. I will continue to conservatively review the pros and cons of recycled synthetic, synthetic, and natural fibres.
Design: My artistic, design and production choices are sympathetic an aesthetic sense of quality that I believe is compatible with wear and tear.
Artistic expression: On the rare occasion that artistic expression requires the use of synthetic materials this will be made clear.
Production and standards
Love Quotient artworks and limited editions are sewn by one person who has taught himself to make clothes from Youtube in a home studio on an excellent JUKI sewing machine with emphasis on durability and continual technical improvement. Your purchase may have imperfections. If, in an artwork's production it has sustained imperfections that I consider undermining to its durability or aesthetic then it is not made available for sale. Other imperfections that are consistent with the scale of production, the overall narrative of this label, the design ambitions or artistic intent, and that do not impact on durability are accepted and should be enjoyed as such.
Often, artworks have featured on social media and as such have digital provenance which may be appreciated by prospective purchasers.
Refund Policy
All sales are final. I cannot accept returns, offer exchanges or give refunds presently.
Repairs
Repair provides an opportunity for narrative gesture. Should you damage an artwork in a manner that requires an obvious repair I would certainly like to be consulted. If time allows I may be able to offer part of the solution such as archived fabric etc.
Social
This label is a menswear label for the purposes of inclusion not exclusion. Anyone who wishes to purchase my artworks and limited editions is most welcome to. I am simply sticking to calling it a menswear label until I feel I am meeting the objectives I have for menswear.
